Why is the glacial clay deposit different in Maine: North of Augusta vs. Southern Maine?

Clay was formed following the last glacial period in Maine. From Augusta south to Portland the deposits are greater and the clay appears more blue-grey. In Waterville and to its north the clay has a more brown-grey appreance (more organic debris remains).

When I did deep into my backyard, I do get some deposits of the blue grey clay.

This is a public site. It is at the Boat Launch to the Messalonskee, at the start of the Messalonskee Trail and behind the North Street Organic Gardens.

I cried for colored fabric at age 4, so that I could sew circles. My sister painted and sewed and she knew that I really liked to make stuff too. 10 years my senior, Jackie took me around town with her. She received a scholarship to Art School when she graduated from High School, but my mother did not let her go. Miss Anne, let me take this Ceramics class, at the Nicetown Club for Boys and Girls, because my big sister was there with me.I was so young, but I kept up with everybody else.

February 12, 2011 - Fascinated by the Egyptian Social Network Revolution. Congratulation! This is a dawning of a new world. Only 11 people are reported to have actually died in this conflict. They accomplished in 18 days, the Jeffersonian Ideal, through the Social Network, of "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." However, Americans know that a new Democracy takes years, decades, centuries to become an actual "Truth." We are still working on that "Truth" 250 years later.

GEOMETREE - Final Student Ornament Posting

Student's have already received credit for their participation in this project by Mr. Scott Rivard, the originator of the idea. The Prizes will be given as my Thank You for allowing me to document the process.

4 PRIZES TO BE GIVEN FOR THE ORNAMENT TOURNAMENT:1^ST, 2^ND, 3^RD, ornaments with the most votes. (If there is a duplicate, then the student whose ornament with the next largest amount of votes will receive a prize.)

Voters Drawing: 1 prize drawn from each person who submitted an email address with their three votes.

Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 22, were the last two days students could participate in the Geometree Ornament Decorations. Then it was time for vacation. There are 45 different ornament selections to choice from.

At the start of my posts, I combined ornaments that were done by the same student, so there is 1 a,b,c,d. As more ornaments were hung on the tree, each ornament was given an individual number. You may select the combinations as one number, since they were done by the same student. There will be 3 winners, from your voting. If a person has submitted multiple ornaments, only one prize will be given to that person.
